A voice as sweet as honey: Cristen “Ten” Spencer, a young up-and-coming vocalist from New Orleans

Cristen “Ten” Spencer is a 28-year-old up-and-coming young vocalist originally from the Bay Area and a four-year resident of New Orleans. Whether it is Jazz, Gospel, classic Funk & R&B or Hip-Hop, Ten’s warm, honey-sweet authenticity captures the audience and her voice invites them into her world. She and her music are heavily rooted and inspired by improvisation, undeniable feel, spiritual reverence, and the beauty of taking up space.  Ten Spencer has received several awards as a vocalist and was the winner of the 2019 Jazz Search West Award. She has recently joined the musical circle of Adonis Rose and the NOJO 7, with whom she performed for the first time last August.
