JazzAscona 2025: Gabriele Pezzoli debuts with his trio and new album June

For the first time and with great enthusiasm JazzAscona welcomes Gabriele Pezzoli, a Locarnese musician with multiple interests. A pianist, composer, producer and teacher, also co-founder of the BLUE2147 collective and active in several projects that cross the boundaries between Jazz, improvisation and current music. He has performed in Switzerland and abroad playing in international clubs and festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Athens Jazz Festival, Estival Jazz and Piano City Milano. He has collaborated with French harmonica player Olivier Ker Ourio, Norwegian trumpeter and future-Jazz pioneer Nils Petter Molvær, Italian saxophonist Tino Tracanna, and important musicians on the Swiss scene, Italy and Europe, including Max De Aloe, Taavo Remmel, Kadri Voorand, Nils Wogram, Manu Gesseney, Domenic Landolf, Reto Suhner, Sara Oswald, the “q3” collective, Nolan Quinn and Kety Fusco. For more than two decades he has been active with his own trio with Swiss-based double bassist Cédric Gysler and Swiss-American drummer Brian Quinn. At Ascona 2025, he will introduce us to the group’s new album, “June”, released last February.
