Explosive groove-pop with a funky soul: The Next Movement

Call it “explosive groove-pop with a funky soul” or whatever you like. For sure, their music, often likened to that of Anderson.Paak or Prince, is mind-blowing and the live performance powerful. After thousands of shows with various artists and projects throughout Switzerland and abroad, The Next Movement make their first appearance at JazzAscona, a Swiss band led by singer and drummer J.J. Flueck, with Pascal “P” Kaeser on bass and synth and virtuoso Sam Siegenthaler on guitar. All three have worked for more than a decade as freelance musicians and rhythm section, but were too busy to release their own music. From 2018 onward the release of a whole series of singles (such as “Let It Go.” “I Wanna See You Move” or “Like A Rolling Stone”) drew public and critical attention to them, filling dancefloors and concert halls. Their latest studio project, the album The Next Movement is out on CD, vinyl, and streaming in fall 2021.
