CAFFÈ CORRETTO JAZZ #8

Thursday, July 3rd: an explosive day filled with parades, salsa, and great jazz voices!
JazzAscona comes alive with one of the most intense days of the festival: a full 25 events between Locarno and Ascona.
The day starts at 4:00 PM with the colorful LocarnOrleans parade through the streets of Locarno’s old town, followed by a concert by the Trombone Shorty Foundation Brass Band at 5:00 PM in front of the Casino.

In Ascona, the evening heats up with a Cuban salsa dance workshop with Nolosé (6:30 PM at Elvezia), who then return to the stage at 8:00 PM with their explosive mix of salsa, jazz, and hip hop.
At 9:30 PM, enjoy contemporary jazz with Fribourg pianist Manon Mullener and her new quintet, followed at 10:30 PM by the debut of the elegant crooner Phillip Manuel, accompanied by the Adonis Rose Ensemble (New Orleans Stage).

Completing the program is the return of NOJO 7 feat. Andromeda Turre (7:30 PM, Stage Seven), the driving funk of Corey Henry & The Treme Funktet (9:45 PM, Stage Seven), and an unmissable late night show with Mad Groove & The Soul Doctors at the Blue Llama Terrace (midnight).

CAFFÈ CORRETTO JAZZ #7

On Wednesday, July 2, the day begins at 11:45 at the Blue LLama Terrace with a lunch concert by the Raphael Jost Quintet, delivering refined swing from Switzerland.
At 19:00, again at the Blue LLama Terrace, the NOJO Youth Orchestra takes the stage — a young American ensemble made up of students and led by musicians from the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.
At 20:30 on the Stage Elvezia, there’s great anticipation for the debut of vocalist Andromeda Turre, performing with the NOJO 7 septet in a repertoire blending jazz, soul, and R&B.
Other highlights include the Balboa workshop with Françoise & Robert (Stage Elvezia, 18:30), a concert by Mitch Woods (Nostrana Jazzbar, 18:45), soul singer Cristen “Ten” Spencer (Stage New Orleans, 20:00), MISS C-LINE’s final Ascona 2025 show (Blue LLama Terrace, 21:30), and a global music journey with the Dave Sharp Worlds Quartet feat. Sheela Bringi (Stage Seven, 21:45).
Also not to miss: a free evening boat cruise from Gambarogno with live music by Frog & Henry (18:30–24:00).

JazzAscona 2025 reaches its halfway point today, Tuesday, July 1, with 17 events on the schedule and three standout concerts that cross cultures and styles. At 7:00 PM – Blue Llama Terrace, the Dave Sharp Worlds Quartet feat. Sheela Bringi makes its debut; at 7:30 PM – Stage Seven, it’s time for manouche swing with the Danilo Boggini Trio feat. Dario Napoli; and at 8:30 PM – Stage Elvezia, spotlight on MISS C-LINE and her Swiss soul-jazz. Also not to be missed: Corey Henry at 8:00 PM – Stage New Orleans, and the Shim Sham dance workshop at 6:30 PM – Elvezia.

CAFFÈ CORRETTO JAZZ #5

On Monday, June 30th, JazzAscona kicks off along the lakeside with a parade by the Trombone Shorty Foundation Brass Band, featuring young musicians from Louisiana making their European debut. The evening continues with three concerts by bands from Italian-speaking Switzerland, including a SMUM faculty quintet with pianist Antonio Faraò, the Gabriele Pezzoli Trio presenting their new album June, and Organic Brew showcasing a project dedicated to organist Jack McDuff.
Later, The Jungle Jazz Band delivers traditional jazz with vocalist Nicolle Rochelle, followed by the American duo Handmade Moments, blending folk, country, and Southern rock in an intense live performance. It promises to be a day full of music and emotion, celebrating jazz as a universal language that unites generations, styles, and cultures.

CAFFÈ CORRETTO JAZZ #4

On Sunday, June 29, JazzAscona 2025 brings a full day of music with concerts, workshops, film screenings, and jazz cruises on the lake.

It starts at lunchtime with the Hot Gravel Eskimos at the Blue LLama Terrace. In the afternoon, enjoy Bazil Meade’s powerful gospel concert at the Collegio Papio Church and a screening of the Erroll Garner documentary at Cinema Otello.

At Elvezia, join a lively Shim Sham dance class with Tony Buonadancer. The evening features the Ascona Big Band and more live performances, while the jazz cruises with The Jungle Jazz Band offer music and dancing on the water.

CAFFÈ CORRETTO JAZZ #3

On Saturday, June 28, JazzAscona comes alive with a full day of free events featuring jazz, funk, folk, and poetry.
At 9:45 PM (Stage Seven), the Swiss Jazz Award 2025 will be presented to Elina Duni, who will captivate the audience with her intense and refined concert.
Also performing are the Swiss Armed Forces Big Band, Radius, and Traktorkestar with their electrifying shows.
Throughout the day, workshops, youth ensembles, and special projects will energize Ascona and its surroundings.
The night concludes with the traditional jam session at Enoteca la Cambüsa.

CAFFÈ CORRETTO JAZZ #2

On Friday, June 27, JazzAscona comes alive with an evening of elegance, rhythm, and soul.
The night kicks off at 19:30 (Stage Seven) with Schubert and Brahms reimagined in jazz, featuring vocalist Lia Pale and pianist-arranger mathias rüegg, founder of the legendary Vienna Art Orchestra.
At 20:00 (Stage New Orleans), it’s time to groove with trombone powerhouse Corey Henry, followed by the soulful voice of Tony Momrelle at 22:30.
Claus Raible brings refined jazz to the Blue Llama Terrace at 21:30, while from 16:00, EAR WE GO Orchestra invites everyone to join a collective workshop celebrating the music of Aretha Franklin.

First day of the festival!
The 41st edition of JazzAscona kicks off tonight — the free festival dedicated to the music of New Orleans, which will enliven the town on Lake Maggiore with over 200 concerts until July 5. The event opens with a parade by the Trombone Shorty Foundation Brass Band and a concert by British soul star Tony Momrelle.
