Ear We Go – The music of Aretha Franklin

The joyful freedom of Jazz in the service of musical learning is the basis of the EAR WE GO project, which is being proposed again this year, in collaboration with the Windband Federation in Ticino, and the Academy of Modern Music in Ticino and other schools and choirs in the region. Trombonist Gilles Repond, and vocalist Amanda Rougier Appignani, will offer a free 3-day workshop, aimed at everyone aged 12 and up, including newcomers, focusing on the experience of playing and singing together.
This year’s workshop will have Aretha Franklin’s music and songs as a common thread and will end with a small final performance on Sunday, June 29. Gilles Repond is an accomplished trombonist from Montreux who has been living in Paris for many years, where he has an intense artistic and teaching activity.
The workshop takes place at Piazzale Elvezia (see map):
Friday, June 27, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. (workshop, Piazzale Elvezia)
Saturday, June 28, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. (workshop, Piazzale Elvezia)
Sunday, June 29, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. (workshop, Piazzale Elvezia)
In case of bad weather, the workshop will be cancelled.
No registration required, just remember to bring your instrument at the Piazzale Elvezia.
The workshop is free of charge!
The workshop is open to everyone (minimum age: 12 years old), it is not necessary to know how to read music, nor music theory.
