Jazz Ensemble workshop with Barb Catlin and Wayne Bergeron

Young musicians and students are invited to participate in the Jazz Ensemble workshop presented by Barb Catlin and Wayne Bergeron, both sahring a prestigious reputation in the educational field, focusing on ensemble playing as well as improvisation.
Pianist Barb Catlin has become one of the leading Jazz educators and is currently teaching jazz at Pomona College, California Institute of Technology and Pasadena City College in the Los Angeles area. Her enthusiasm for playing, “real-life” approach to education and expertise in the rhythm section has made Barb a popular clinician and adjudicator at the high school and college levels. Wayne Bergeron hopes to inspire a new generation of young players and enjoys his work as a clinician and educator: “Nothing makes me feel more accomplished than hearing a young musician say that I inspired them or had a positive influence on their life. For me, that’s the real payday.” Bergeron is currently on faculty at California State University Northridge.
The Jazz Ensemble Workshop will be held on Tuesday June 25, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Aula Magna (rehearsal hall) Collegio Papio (map).
