Jazz without borders: Marsico’s trio between tradition and modernity

Organ, sax and drums with traditional Jazz pieces, but also original compositions and more contemporary Jazz and blues accents. On stage three great musicians from nearby Piedmont, starting with Alberto Marsico, whom the Ascona audience already knows and appreciates. Marsico is one of today’s most esteemed hammond players, he has collaborated with Jazz greats such as Bobby Durham, Kenny Burrell, Joey DeFrancesco, Enrico Rava and Alvin Queen, recorded records and given seminars around the world, releasing two CDs for Verve Records with Fabrizio Bosso and Jeremy Monteiro and six solo albums. He is joined by Luca Guarino, a 25-year-old but already well-established drummer, and Diego Borotti (class of 1962) a Jazz saxophonist, composer and arranger with experience to spare and in a variety of musical genres. He has collaborated with artists such as Franco D’Andrea, John Patitucci and Enrico Rava and performed more than 2,000 concerts worldwide, including those on Solomon Burke and BB King’s World Summer Tour and with Italian singer Fiorella Mannoia. A trio not to be missed!
