Lana Janjanin: pianist, singer and composer from Croatia to be discovered

Thirty years old and born in Zagreb, Croatia, a composer, pianist and singer with a soft voice at ease in a variety of registers, Lana Janjanin graduated from the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, where she studied classical composition, Lana writes lyrics, composes and arranges music for her jazz ensemble, as well as for classical and jazz orchestras, which she occasionally conducts. She has participated in numerous festivals and concerts in Europe but also in China and Taiwan, and collaborated with renowned musicians and orchestras, including Roby Lakatos, Vlatko Stefanovski, the ORF RSO Symphony Orchestra and others. In 2018, she released “Miracles,” a double album recorded with the HRT Jazz Orchestra and her fellow composer Dina Rizvić, as well as her debut album, “A Minute Of Love,” where she performs standards and her own compositions, which move between ballads and funky/groovy song. In 2019 she was nominated for the record award “Porin” (the Croatian Grammy) in the category “New Artist of the Year.”  She performs with her quartet for the first time at Jazzascona.
