It is an artist of the highest caliber who will accompany this year’s lineup of teachers from the SMUM – School of Modern Music of Lugano for its now traditional JazzAscona event. Antonio Faraò, one of the best Jazz pianists of today, known for his energy and unmistakable style, characterized by excellent technique, emotional intensity and refined musical communication. Born in Rome in 1965 into a family of musicians, Faraò first achieved success in 1991 by winning Musica Jazz’s “New Talents” award. He went on to collaborate with such legends as Jack DeJohnette, Wayne Shorter, Marcus Miller and Al Jarreau. Invited several times by Herbie Hancock to International Jazz Day, he recorded the album “Eklektik” with artists such as Snoop Dogg and Lenny White.
