The Australian clan invites us on their swing-powered super rocket
Since the days of Tom Baker – and in more recent years David Blenkhorn, Emma Pask, Bob Barnard and other great musicians – Ascona has always had a soft spot for Australian Jazz. So it is with pleasure that we announce the return to JazzAscona 2024 of SwingRocket, a band led by singer and trombonist Dan Barnett. Son of the legendary bassist Cliff Barnett, Dan is a musician with a charismatic personality, leader of several ensembles, who boasts a respectable artistic career with concerts all over the world and important collaborations (James Morrison among many).
With SwingRocket he returns with an enthralling musical project. Three, two, one… The Swing propelled rocket is ready to take off.
