Tom McGuire & The Brassholes: Funk and soul, a power band from Glasgow

Tom McGuire & the Brassholes are a popular funk soul group from Glasgow. Combining elaborate arrangements with meticulous songwriting and impeccable live performances, the band has carved a niche for itself. Consisting of eight musicians, the band formed by busking on the streets of Glasgow and made a living playing in bars before bursting onto the scene with the debut single, which went viral, “Ric Flair.” A few months later, in 2019, the band launched its debut album with a sold-out show at Glasgow’s QMU. Since then Tom McGuire and co. have secured support sets for Craig Charles and George Clinton, become the darlings of the festival circuit, and have headlined numerous Scottish festivals, as well as toured extensively in the UK and Europe. They are for the first time guests of JazzAscona.
