Some sixty concerts and events will shape the first full JazzAscona weekend. A full immersion into music awaits you. The events start at noon, continue in the afternoon in numerous bars as well as the narrow streets of the old town and come to the highlights with the evening concerts on the five stages by the lakeshore, which last late into the night with the midnight sessions on the Blue Llama Terrace and the legendary Jam Sessions until 3.30 am in the Cambüsa. 

Saturday evening offers the first of two concerts by the Swiss Armed Forces Big Band (Stage New Orleans, 8pm). Led by Edgar Schmid and pride of our army, the big band performed with great success at home and abroad and will be accompanied by one of the most renowned contemporary trumpeters, Mister Wayne Bergeron.

Also on Saturday, on the main stage, Vanessa Collier‘s blues band will give its final concert at JazzAscona 2024 (New Orleans stage, 22:30): The award-winning American saxophonist and singer will be awarded the AET My Choice Audience Award. She was the JazzAscona audience’s favourite in 2023.

For dance enthusiasts, we would like to point out the Elvezia Square, where a salsa workshop (also in the lady-style version) will take place from 6 to 8.30 pm and then, to stay on theme, two concerts in Latin American atmosphere with the Cuban group La Familia Loca (from 9 to 10 pm on the Elvezia stage and from midnight to 1.30 am on the Blue Llama terrace).
