Manon Mullener, young Jazz star on the rise
Manon Mullener has already come a long way since she first performed in Ascona in 2023! A true promise of European jazz, the young Fribourg pianist and composer has been performing on major stages in Switzerland and around the world: recall in 2024 her participation in Jazz à Vienne, at the Havana festival (where she duetted with Emmet Cohen, Dayramir Gonzalez and Jorge Luis Pacheco) or her four-month stay in New York, where she devoted herself to composing and recording her new album, STORIES, due out in 2025.
Leader of a quintet she founded in 2022, but also a versatile pianist who is at home in many styles of music (she is active in a variety of projects, such as Nicole Johänntgen’s Robin, La Comédie Musicale Improvisée, Nolan Quinn’s quintet or in a duo with pianist Dayramir Gonzalez from Cuba), Manon weaves her notes between Jazz, Latin music and melodies from her native Switzerland, giving life, with her intimate and vibrant style, to compositions “that are like travelogues, where echoes of scenes from around the world mingle” (Jazz Magazine).
