The warm and scratchy sound of Re:Funk is back with their debut album, “BorderLine”
After three intense years spent honoring the godfather of soul and playing on prestigious stages such as Montreux Jazz Festival and JazzAscona, on occasion graced by the presence of legendary saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis, Swiss’s finest purveyors of funk & soul Re:Funk launch “BorderLine”, their debut album composed entirely of original compositions.
“BorderLine” is the result of the band’s stylistic and compositional exploration of its influences: from the soul and classic R&B of the 60s to the energetic T.O.P-style funk of the 70s (with a 6-element brass section). The result is a warm and scratchy sound that becomes the band’s distinctive trait.
