The Jim Dandies, american music at its roots
Traditional jazz, pre-war blues, hokum songs, barrelhouse, Western Swing, stride, boogie woogie – all these musical styles strongly characterize The Jim Dandies’ sound, a dirty and rough sound, the sound of barrelhouses, brothels and juke joints during the 20s and 30s. The Jim Dandies aim to take the audience back in time, into a low-fi dimension jazz and blues, back to the roots basically.
Paolo Fornara, Italian-born but artistically imbued with American vision founded one of the very first trad jazz and pre-war blues bands in Italy, the Vaudeville Stomp Revue, in 2009 already, then in 2018 the Jim Dandies, with Alessandra Perozzo on vocals, washboard and kazoo and Paolo Busatto on guitars, one can hear the trio’s common love for American music.
