Early Jazz to tap your feet to: meet the New Orleans Hot Shots
The New Orleans Hot Shots were formed in 1987 and are now one of the few Swiss ensembles still cultivating early New Orleans Jazz, the music born around 1900 and played until the early 2000s by the last legendary black musicians in New Orleans’ Preservation Hall. This music is all about playing together freely, emotionally and spontaneously in a style that appeals so much to both Jazz aficionados and newcomers. The band has more than 250 titles in its repertoire and features experienced musicians who have played with Sammy Rimington, Lillian Boutte, Bob Wilber, Jacques Gauthe, Albert Nicolas, Doc Cheatham, Louis Nelson, Fredy Kohlman, Milt Hinton, Ralph Sutton, Hazy Osterwald and many others.
