Stanford students with Wayne Bergeron, one of the most acclaimed trumpeters of the world

The university’s Jazz ensemble, Stanford Jazz Orchestra, englobes a repertoire of jazz standard classics and contemporary jazz.  The Orchestra performs both in their home nation as well as internationally, featuring artists such as Jon Faddis (with whom they were in Ascona back in 2012), Louis Bellson, Bob Mintzer, Wycliffe Gordon, Ingrid Jensen, Jimmy Heath and many more. During the upcoming European tour their formation, directed by Mike Galisatus, will once again be on stage in Ascona with trumpeter Wayne Bergeron

Wayne Bergeron first marked his ground in 1986, year in which he became first trumpet of Maynard Ferguson’s band. Nowadays he is one of the most sought after trumpeters in the world. “Wayne – says Ferguson – is the most musical trumpet player I have ever had in my band“. Bergeron has worked and played in over 500 famous film soundtracks such as Toy Story, Frozen, The Lion King, Superman Returns, South Park, La La Land and many more. His activity in the recording studio is also very rich, collaborating with jazz and pop music stars from Ray Charles to Green Day, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow, Michael Bublé, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, Seal, Diana Krall, Dianne Reeves, Quincy Jones and many more.
Bergeron, who’s biggest passion is performing as a solo artist in big bands, has published quite a number of solo albums. His first work ,,You Call This a Living?” granted him a Grammy nomination in 2004. His most recent work, the CD Full Circle, was published in January 2016.
